It seems that lots of laptops still don't have DVI out. This is kind of strange to me as it would seem that the need at this point would be for that connection far more than VGA. Is there a visible loss of image quality when converting from VGA out of the laptop to a DVI monitor interface?

I run a 22" monitor off a VGA integrated graphics workstation. Looks fine to me. Generally speaking though, it is said that with LCDs of 19" or smaller, you won't notice the difference between VGA and DVI connections.

VGA is sufficient. But I agree that DVI on more systems would be nice.
