    Hi members, new here.

Been looking through your forum and seems to be the best place to get my answers.

I have just bought a cheap laptop and want to know what cpu i will be able to put in it, i also would like to know if it may be a rebadged laptop (advent?).

    check the pics for specs.

Thank you in advanced, and if you need to know anything else please ask.

Just ordered a t2080 cpu for it, would this be ok?

And will it be a big improvement on the m420 celeron it currently has?

In theory it should work as you're using the T2080, which has a 533MHz FSB. That matches the 943 chipset, but I'm not really a guru on this stuff. As for performance, it really depends on what you're doing. For stuff that's CPU intensive like flash video, you should get a nice boost. For non-intensive stuff, it probably won't be as big. Maybe the most important part is the T2080 has speedstep, which should offer better battery life and less noise. As always when upgrading the CPU, update to the latest BIOS.

    Thank you ZaZ.

Just want this cheapo laptop to be a bit snappier, i know there will be no crysis on it but aslong as windows runs faster and things like firefox load faster i dont mind, just stuck another 512mb ram in and already that has made a massive improvement, just got to wait for the t2080 now.

Also, my battery gauge in windows always says low? ie, 8% = battery full and 6% battery nearly empty. the only way i know to plug the charger in is when the red LED starts flashing.

The battery does charge, and holds the charge, just doesnt tell me how much it has?

    I hope that makes sense.
