I recently got a Dell E6410 through work. Unfortunately they did not add the extra option of getting a backlit keyboard put into the system. I was wondering if I could buy this separately? I actually spoke to a technical advisor who told me that they don't sell the backlit keyboard separately, has anybody bought this after purchase of their system?

eBay for under $20 shipped
Just search the e6400 or e6500, they use the SAME back lit keyboard as the e6410 & e6510
YES it will work with the e6410 as it also worked with my e6510
these are original Dell parts

... and so do the precision M2400 and M4400. The prices have really gone down; back when the E6400 was "new", it might have cost nearly $50 for one of these.

Indeed the price is right
lesson for those looking to purchase a latitude or precision, don't pass on a great deal if only lacking the back-lit option as it is a low-cost addition later.
Be sure to install the Dell system manager to gain additional control as well. -
Thank you for your help! I have found a replacement keyboard but would like some instructions on how to replace it. There doesn't seem to be any you tube videos showing this. Does anybody have good instructions for this?
Cheers! -
