I have been dealing with screen flickering issues with my 14" Razer Blade 2017, so I opened it up and disconnected the eDP connector from the motherboard while the computer was running (at this stage I didn't even know what the cable was for), and the screen went completely black, which made me realize it is the screen cable. I plugged it back in and the flickering continued. I repeated this a few times, then the screen just remained black even if the cable was connected to the motherboard.
Is there any way I damaged the screen by doing this? It's been a day, I don't recall the burnt electronics smell coming from it, so I am guessing it's just that the cable was on the verge of death and finally died. On that matter, I am also wondering what I can do to repair my computer. I found the panel and the connector on panelook, it's a 30-pin eDP connector, I am not sure but I am speculating that it has 2 lanes. Can I replace it with any other 30-pin connector? What should I do?

One thread should be enough.
Closing this one.
eDP connector might be failing, + possible screen damage
