I have tried 2 different eSATA cards on my HP Pavilion but they both occasionally come loose causing me to lose both one TB Lacie drives I have connected to them. Right now I have sticky back velcro attached to the bottom of the laptop and to the bottom of the card. I connect the two areas with additional strips of velcro with hooks. However, since I move the laptop from my lap to a small table in front of me several times a day, the card will still work loose and both hard drives come off line. :(

I started out with a narrow eSATA card which seemed to come loose every time I moved the laptop. I then bought a wide eSATA card thinking it would fit more snugly into the slot. It still comes loose. Having thick, stiff cables doesn't help the situation at all. What's really needed is some sort of fairly strong, mechanical connection to hold the card in the slot. Is such a thing available? Does anyone here have a solution, fix or recommendation?

I'm using this one right now:

    Syba SD-PCBX-ESA2 ExpressCard SIL3132 Chipset 2x e-SATA II (SATA2) Ports, 54mm, Up to 3.0Gb/s

This is the narrow one that it replaced:

SIIG SC-SAEE22-S1 eSATA II 2-Port ExpressCard by SIIG

Hmm, no one has a solution to this common, vexing problem? I saw somewhere that somebody used tooth picks jammed into to slot to tighten things up. Has anyone tried that? Stuffing wood into an express card slot makes me a little nervous.
