Hello,
I have a Seagate external eSATA hard drive in a Rosewill enclosure with an eSATA interface. When I have my computer on, plug in the drive, and turn it on, I instantly get the "found new hard drive" popup. If I interpret this correctly, it means the drive is hot-swappable to some degree. However, there is no option to eject or safely remove the drive. So far, I've just waited for a couple minutes after data transfer is finished and then just flipped the power switch on the hard drive to disconnect it. Is this a safe practice or is there a better way to do it?
Thanks.

You sure there's no way to safely remove it? My eSATA drive gives me that option. eSATA should be completely hot-swappable.

Same thing here!!! Here's what I do:
Press [windows key] & [pause|break]
<hardware tab>
Device Manager
[+] Disk Drives
Right click the drive -> Uninstall
It should click and power down the drive, then switch off power. -
If you want to be able to remove the drive without ejecting it or using "safe remove" you can:
1. Connect your eSata drive
2. Open device manager, double-click on the drive
3. Open the the policy tab, select the fast removal option
