Is this port an eSatap connection? (the one provides both power and data with 1 input). Because I'm planning to upgrade my old computer's hdd to ssd but i would need more space than what the ssd provides. Can't find drive caddy that's a reasonable price for this old laptop. (HP dv4-1435dx) thanks for anyone help.

    Edit:

Looks like eSATAp. It has the extra notches in the bottom corners.

From that listing... yes, you can.

eSATAp enclosures are still hard to find and/or pricey. I paid $30 for mine. I'm not sure how I feel about a silicone cover as the only protection for a bare HDD, but if it works then it works, eh?

Just what are you doing to your hard drives that a silicone case won't protect against? The full extent of my casing is an anti-static bag.

Portability w/o having to worry about fragility/impact.
