    Hi guys ,

sorry to ask ,but i'm desperate and broke , buying a new mobo is not an option.

    I have an acer 5742G 374G32Mnkk intel HM55 chipset with a damaged ATI 5470 Card , i did a reflow but it didn't last long .

I was wondering if it's possible to use the CPU i3 370M integrated intel graphics , i'm 100% sure that the cpu has it except theres nothing on the system that indicates it (device manager,Bios).

so my question is will a modded bios allow me to enable it and use it instead of the damaged ATI ?

    Thanks.

Seems like you may be using the wrong video drivers for your system? Or, possibly there is a switch to force the use of igpu in BIOS? I know you state you've checked, but it may be hidden/worded differently than what you're expecting...

Theoretically, what you want to do should be possible (and hopefully without a modded BIOS).

You may want to try the Windows 10 O/S (free) to see if the notebook responds better with an updated O/S and a clean install?

    Good luck.

Hi tilleroftheearth and thanks for the reply ,

i don't think it's a drivers problem and i don't know how a new OS will help , maybe i didn't explain my problem clearly.

i have a black screen and i used an external monitor and it shows vertical lines , i did a reflow to the ati and it worked for less than two weeks :(

i checked the Bios setting but theres nothing there that indicates or allows to switch graphics cards , i tried to install the intel drivers but i got a message saying that this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software ...

will a modded Bios show the hidden option that allows switching ? i know that updating the Bios is risky and can do more damage .

    Thnak you.

Read this thread. Some people complained about Intel being integrated GPU and tried to disable it so motherboard probably should support it. Read everything and then perhaps contact topic starter.
