I'm looking to upgrade my evo n610c to 1024 megs of memory with a 512 meg stick of Kingston ValueRam. The Kingston specs are identical to the original ram module except for the speed. The evo n610c uses PC2100 ram. Will PC2700 ram be compatible with this machine?

From the ram upgrade posts that I've seen, it appears that the notebooks seem to be quite finicky when it comes to compatibility with generic ram as compared to desktops. Throwing in a speed change may add to the problem.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone that has gone this route.
