    external graphics card , what cable?

    Hi,



    What cables do I use for external graphics cards? I have a laptop

    would usb 3.0 or hdmi work for graphics card

    here is laptop plugs;

    Left side: Mini FireWire, RJ-45 Gigabit LAN, 2x USB 3.0, eSATA / USB 3.0, 9-in-1 card reader

    Back: Kensington lock, DisplayPort, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, power jack

    Right side: optical drive, 4x sound, USB 2.0

    @ritfin neither of those would suit for eGPU. It may be possible to use WLAN slot, but it's not comfortable, and may not work at all. However, if you just need to add an extra monitor, without intent to play games on it, a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter will do.

    so your telling me that out of the plugs below there is no option for a eGPU? thanks.

    @ritfin yes, that's what I'm telling you. None of the ports you mentioned are suitable for the task; only your Wi-Fi card slot can be. I's either mini PCIe or m.2 a-key, has pcie bus either way.
