So with my 1520 Dell gave me 100 bucks to spend on something between now and the end of the month. I'm not big on many accessories or anything so I was thinking about adding an external monitor. I've never dealt with the dual monitor setup and was looking at their 20" widescreen LCD. Any thoughts on if this is a good monitor or good setup in general? I know the 1520 doesn't have a DVI output...would picture quality suffer enough as to just getting a cheaper monitor?

    Thanks for the help.

It won't suffer that much but DVI/HDMI is very recommended. Take a look at Dell's own line of LCD monitors, they're pretty decent in price and quality.

I'm using a 20" 207WFP and it's pretty awesome, though I'm using VGA. Next notebook I own must have DVI/HDMI, VGA's horrendous on notebooks, especially on a larger LCD.

i had a 22inch wide on VGA, and when i got my dock with DVI. I couldn't tell the difference. 24 inch with VGA though is a no go.
