I just got my new acer 1410 netbook and want to use my cd/dvd drive from my '02 dell laptop with the acer. I have seen cd/dvd case enclosures on Amazon and ebay that claim you can take your cd/dvd drive from your laptop and install it in the slim case, which converts it into a portable cd/dvd drive that you can use with your netbook. My question is has anyone used one of these and will it work with vista and/or windows 7??? Here is the link......... http://www.amazon.com/External-Encl...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255481948&sr=8-1

This is a good improvise, way to go man! I haven't done it but this is indeed a good idea. My brother has an old laptop that I can take the ROM as portable player.
    Thanks for the tip

Works fine, that's what I did when I got a Blu-ray for my laptop, stick the DVD into one of this and it works great.
