I'm about to buy a computer and debating whether to get the 0.3MP integrated webcam or rather buy a better webcam separately. 0.3MP seems like a pretty low resolution. The camera will be used for personal chats and videos with family across country.
Can anyone provide some guidance as to what resolution and MP webcam I should seek out for purchase? I have no clue and don't want to pay a ton more than I have to for features that won't matter. Please help!
Thanks.

For chats, 0.3 will be perfectly fine. The resolution is usually only 640x480 (0.3MP) anyway when streaming video. The only case where you might want a higher resolution would be if you plan on taking pictures with your webcam.

Yes, 0.3MP is enough for video chat. Most IM clients dont offer resolutions above 640x480 anyway.
