I currently have an older sony laptop. P4 2.8 GHz, 533 FSB with a 4200 RPM hdd. I was wondering if i were to get a faster hdd, say a 7200 RPM if it would increase system performance or if the fsb is too low to see any change? Thanks

No, you will see a huge noticeable difference. It will feel like a whole new computer.

    4200 vs. 7200 RPM? BIG difference, get a 7200 ;)

Yes, there is a difference, but it also depends on what you do with your computer...

    Absolutely, ATA-6 is backwards compatible.

I upgraded from 4200RPM to 5400RPM but I have been thinking getting 7200RPM lately.

What is stopping me...is it worth it? MY 80GB is plenty for my needs.
