hello, yesterday i was connecting something to my laptop and i accidently stuck my finger in the ethernet socket, feeling a small electrical discharge. i tested it afterwards and it wasn't damaged, but later i got my first blue screen while using the laptop, i wonder if it could have anything with what i did, could i have damaged the motherboard or something?![]()

What did the bluescreen say? Should be a 9 digit error code. Something like 0x000000000

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
Uhh...don't stick your finger in the ethernet port?
Google your BSOD error code as stated above. -
C:\Windows\Minidump\042211-8689-01.dmp
You could upload that here and let one of the more motivated/ experienced users have a look. -

Ethernet should not shock you. It does not have enough power. Make sure your computer is correctly grounded.
0x0000000A is typical a hardware issue or incompatible driver. Did you do anything else except stick your finger in the ethernet port? New mouse, usb stick, external hard disk, or updated a driver? -

i've had no more blue screens until now -
It's probably just coincidence.
If it's the first time, I really wouldn't worry too much (it is Windows after all). -
You cant really know for sure. Pitabred is a bit of a genius around these parts, I can vouch for what he says. I shocked myself on my old laptop after having a bit of charge on myself. We have our entire floor covered in fluffy carpets <3 here.
I don't think you would have taken anything with the discharge. Just check the RAM and make sure it's working properly. Common BSOD is a RAM issue, hopefully you didn't blow one of your sticks, or both.
How long after did you get the BSOD? -

ok, i've been told it was a driver related bsod, so nothing to worry about. sorry if the ethernet thing sounded silly
, thanks for your time
