firewire problems need help big time

im new here and not that techy anyway, i have a packard bell easynote tj71 and have some underwater wreck footage from a dv camcorder and it has to be trasnferred via a firewire cable but there is no ilink port/firewire on the laptop, mailed packard bell twice and no reply, my question is can i add firewire to this laptop and if so how is it done would need to know in laymens terms lol any help would so much be appreciated cheers

 

You can buy a firewire expresscard for it, like this:

 

thats like a firewire buscard for the PCMCIA slot thing is i have just checked etc and there is no pcmia slot unless it goes else where sorry for sounding thick, regards

 

so what kind of expansion card slots does your laptop have if not a pcmcia?

expresscard? Or nothing except for USB?

 

its only has usb and thats it thats why i am struggling to find anything went to local pc shop and they were not bothered but they were quick to sell me the laptop in the begining
