What do I need to know about ssds? It's a Samsung 841 (840 pro) 256 msata.
Rig is a clevo w230st.
Afaik, don't defrag, move windows temp directories to the mechanical drive (1tb 7200 in the 2.5 bay). There are 4 windows temp directories afaik. Move page file to mechanical drive. That's all I know... Not terribly stressed since ssd prices have dropped so much but if some one could give me some pointers that would be greatly appreciated.
Also, this thing has an intel 4600 from the 4702 CPU and a gtx 765m discrete. Is there an indicator that tells you when the gpu is in use? Is there a way to force the system to use the 4600 for web content? I've read about the gpu kicking in for web stuff and driving up temps and fan speeds. I figure the 4600 is plenty for that sort of stuff tho.
Finally - for video playback, say 1080p mkvs, is a 4600 enough? Or do you go with gpu for that? Is there a way to force the system to use one or the other?

optimus will auto detect when it needs to be used and auto switch. at all other time it will run on the intergrated 4600 to give much better battery life for surfing or general use.
you can go into nvidia control panel and set certain things to use the 765 but this only needs to be done if it doesnt auto switch. -
