hi
i was wondering if anyone can offer any advice. my wifes screen got damaged on her hp elitebook 8470p. i didn't realise that this model came in 2 different screen resolutions. i have bought and fitted a 1600x900 screen rather than a 1366x768 which it should have been. now the screen works but it has faint vertical lines down the screen and fuzzy low brightness even if i reduce the resolution of the graphics down from 1600x900 to 1366x768 to suit the inbuilt hd4000 grapohics.
on a normal desktop obviously you can set the monitor to suit your graphics. but are these issues likely to be because i have fitted a too high a resolution screen, or is it an indictaion of a faulty replacement screen? any advice greatfully appreciated.
thanks in advance

I don't know your model but is there a different (upgraded) display cable that is supposed to be paired with the higher res screen?

Edit: Just checked eBay, most are single channel cables. Aliexpress may be a better source.Vistar Shook and bennyg like this. -
