    title says it. :(
My samsung external screen is flickering (horizontal) badly from day 1, only noticable when displaying a dark background though.
I'm guessing this is because I'm using vga instead of dvi?
also, nvidia control panel detects the screen as a crt, and I have installed the samsung drivers. I'm on 180.43

Do you have it running on the correct refresh rate?

Are both the computer and the monitor plugged into the same circuit? If so, it could be just a ground looping problem. You could try checking that by using a 3 prong to 2 prong adapter on one of them. This will unground one of them and break the loop. It is a cheap and easy thing to check. Using a prong adapter greatly improved my monitor flickering. For your sake I hope that is the problem.

    1. Check your refresh rate.

    2. Check for loose connections.

    3. Try re-installing drivers to GFX card.

    Hope this helps!
