    would there be any heat problems in the future if i was doing continuous hours of oblivion with a 160gb 7200rpm hitachi hard drive? xps m1530

    You shouldn't have any problems. Just make sure you monitor your temperatures. You can check out the cooling guide for some tips on keeping your laptop cool. I recommend undervolting your CPU. It dropped my laptops temperature by about 10C when playing games.

    undervolting? you mean bring down it's GHz, so basically the opposite of overclocking?

    No bring down the volt, so that it runs cooler! I've done it, and managed to cool down the cpu by 8-10c degrees.
    And it has NO impact on performance
