Well first you cant remove your GPU... it would be nice to have auser upgradeable GPU, but with the FX series we unfortunatly dont.

Have you checked your temps? if your buying the computer second hand you might have gotten a machine that was pretty well slagged by the previous owner and they are just trying to get you to screw up the rig and then they can claim "you" messed it up with disassembly

I wasn't aware that it was a second hand machine.
With second hand computers you should always start with a fresh copy of the operating system

Have you monitored the GPU temps ?? (If not, do so with HWMonitor)

And run 3DMark06 or rthdribl....to stress the GPU.

(And try to clean up the registry with CCleaner as well)

It could be your anti virus conflicting with the ame your playing.

Try also to get the latest drivers for your graphics card. if you don't find them at the oficial website then try the OMEGA drivers.

Look for patches released by the creators of the game you're playing.

It just goes blank/crashes with a black screen, or does it give a BSOD ?

If the GPU is the culprit, and is soldered to the motherboard, then the whole motherboard will have to be replaced.

    Ok, Rare BSODs.
Check if there is a Minidump folder in the Windows folder, and is there any recent minidump file in it....

    (Has the warranty expired ?)

I am not sure, because if the GPU is soldered, it will be hard to repair it, and you'll have to look for a motherboad replacement (probably ebay or similar).

Or sell the notebook alongwith all GPU issues addressed....

mine used to crash like this when I was fiddling around with drivers. Try 177.83, most stable for me so far, you can get em right off Nvidias website.

Also blow out the vent on the left side with some compressed air, could be dust buildup holding all the hot air in.
