Are there any instructions / pix for opening the gateway lt3103? My screen is on the blink. I'm hoping it's just a loose cable inside. I have the screws off but there's still something holding it together.

When you disassemble any laptop, there are two primary means to connect pieces of plastic.
    1) screws
    2) plastic snaps.

Screws are self explanatory, turn to the left to loosen, turn to the right to tighten. Always use the appropriate size screwdriver. Do not use an electric screwdriver like a drill.
There will be plastic snaps every few inches around the perimeter of the LCD bezel. You can remove the plastic snaps with a flat head screw driver if need be. Most of the time, there is a small groove between the two parts of the screen. Slide a plastic card like a credit card, library card etc between the two halves and they will separate. Do not use a lot of force or you can snap the plastic bezel. Once you get a few of the plastic snaps out, you can pull the halves of the lid apart by hand. It should come off rather easily.

Once you get to the back of the LCD,
I recommend removing the LCD ribbon cable.
Clean the connector with some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.
When dry, reconnect the ribbon cable.
Use a piece of electrical tape to hold the LCD ribbon cable in place
Then button the laptop back up and your problems should be a thing of the past

    Good luck,

    K-TRON
