    whats the best software for transferring all your old files on your old hard drive to your new hard hard drive?

    I'm not sure if you're asking how to do this from a physical perspective (such as putting the old HD in a USB enclosure and connecting to your new laptop via USB cable) or whether you've overcome that challenge. I'll assume you have, here's a program from Microsoft called Sync Toy that's free and designed to move files.

    Casper, Acronis....I don't know any freewares but their demos should do the job as well.
