Hi all im new to the forums so go easy on me :)

Ive got a HP Paviliion ZD2622EA laptop :hp:
    1.6 centrino, 512mb ram.

its got an intel integrated graphic card (GMA 950) is it possible to upgradge the card to an ATI or geforce? and how would i do this?

if i cant then would upgrading the memory improve the graphics on screen?

    Any help appreciated

    cheers

    Hmm...

Those specs don't match up with the model - the ZD-series has a P4 CPU and X600 GPU. To answer your question though - no you cannot upgrade an integrated graphics card to a dedicated one unfortunately.

youll be stuck my friend. thats the disadvatage of getting any intel based video, you gotta keep it. the best idea is to see what kinds of things youll use the gpu for and have that near the top of your shopping list of priorities

im stuck with it then, never mind ill save up some pennies and upgrade the notebook if i need to.

out of interest how do you find out the frames per second rate when playing games?
and is it possible to clock an integrated card?

you can use a program called FRAPS. just google it, and google will show you the way.

with clocking, you mean overclocking? you might be able to, but it wont do any good. integrated video offloads some of the work to the cpu so you'd not be doing much. just sendingg info to the cpu faster :)

it might help some, but think of it like putting a supercharger on a lawn mower. sure, theres more resources there, but whatsa lawn mower gonna do with it? :)
