when i look up the frequency of my ram in cpu-z, it says that it is running at 333 not the 667 that i ordered! does it automaticly clock down at idle or is this a problem? Thanks for your help

No, it's DDR or 'Dual Data Rate' RAM. They are clocked at per example 333Mc but take data in or out on both the rising and falling edge of the clock, resulting in an actual data rate corresponding to a single data rate clock of 667Mc?

so you are saying i have ddr ram, not the ddr2 i ordered and my computer says i have? this is what cpu-z gave me...

Please go to BIOS and make sure that the speed of memory can be adjusted.
If your memory is a DDR2, it's max. speed is only up to 667Mhz. If it is a DDR, the max. speed up to 400Mhz. -
You have the correct DDR2 667 RAM and 333MHz is the clock speed at which it runs. Both DDR & DDR2 memory are capable of transferring data both on the rising/falling edges of the frequency. As such memory manufacturers take advantage of this and rate their memory at twice the clock speed. What this means is that a DDR/DDR2 memory running at 333Mhz memory is capable of data transfer rates of a single data rate memory running at 667MHz. So, they they rate their memory as DDR2 667.\
This is true of any DDR or DDR2 memory.
half speed ram???
