i want to buy a large hdd for my t42.
i prefer a quiet one, at least better than hitachi 5k100, but the performance should also be competitive.

    samsung m60 120gb
    seagate 5400.2 100gb
    fujitsu mhv2100ah (100gb)

for price/gb ratio, m60 120gb is the most valuable.
    generally, which one is better?

Please for the love of god make your sig a tad smaller. default font/size perhaps ;)

The seagate will probably provide you with the most goodness and whatnot.

As far as I can tell, Seagates are by far the quietest drives around. They're also reasonably fast, so I recommend it. I think Samsungs have a reputation for being a bit on the slow side, as do fujitsus.
