    You can try placing it on something like a wire cookie cooling rack: http://www.dkimages.com/discover/previews/761/416672.JPG Make sure nothing else is pressed against it, and of course never put it on any soft surfaces like your bed, couch, chair, pillow or even your lap can block vents. If the temps still don't come down, don't use it. You will just end up permanently damaging something.

    Canned air is like $5.. just go get some and clean it out properly.

    your idea worked. managed to get ahold of one, and i washed down the air vents in my laptop.took abt 5 mins. now active temp of 36c

    ma brother's laptop has an active temperature of 20c :O and his fan never comes on
