No HDD workie no workie. Not going to happen if HDD is not working.
-
Why does he want to install an OS on a crashed HDD ?? Recover data ?
-
lol..he doesn't want to install one he wants to be able to boot his computer.
i told him it wouldn't work..goober.
he said something about bypassing an automated or automatic something or other...i don't think he knew what he was talking about..LOL -
If the HDD is physically damaged it won't work. So how did he crash it ? Dropped the notebook off the first floor or installed a faulty driver and stuff ??
-
lol..no . its an older compaq desktop. one of those ones they carried at walmart a few years ago. he came home after being in montana for a few months..he started his computer and the hard drive just went poot on him. he did say it crashed.
-
Is it detected in the BIOS ?? If not, then it has gone poot on him....
-
lol
okay i'll ask him to do that later. he's over here playing D & D with my hubby.
thanks -
Andy you are not going to fix this. It is over, done, the fat lady sang.

Well the term "crashed" is commonly used by non-technical computer users associating to a non-booting computer or a fubared OS. It may not actually mean "broken" hard drive.
You won't believe how many times people said to me that their "hard drive crashed" when infact Windows screwed up. And they used the term "hard drive" referring to their computer desktop.
