Last year I bought a HP- compaq persario v2000 notebook as follows:
    Amd 1.8Ghz 64 bit sempron
    Ati-200m video card
    256 mb Ram
    Hitachi- 40 gig hd 4200rpm

I have upgraded the Memery 512
and bought new hd@ 80 gigs 5400rpms by seagate.
I have taken the old drive out and repaced with new drive, and take the adapter off the old drive and put it on the new one(80gig). while formating the new drive it only reads 31.58 out of the total 80. I tried working this out but it won't configure total size correctly. I have used the seagate disk with this drive and it puts DDO on it ( dynamic disk overlay) on the drive to read the full access of this drive. I have tried other numorus ways to get this drive to read total size and can't without this software. I didn't have any prolems with the old one. Is there a Bios limitation problem. I have talk to Hp, and asked for help at the place that I bought this nookbook at, but no luck. Can some please help me with is issue. I would be very greatful.

have you tried the maxblast 4-5 hdd setup disk from the seagate/maxtor website.

download the floppy or the cd version.
