    My laptops hdd is non recoverable so i am looking to replace it witha bigger hdd.My laptop is the hp pavilion dv51099nr with toshiba 320gb 5400rpmhdd(2.5inch).Looking for hdd that is bigger since i will be storing ps2,psx and video files on it.Was looking at the western digital scorpios series.Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    If your notebook can handle 12.5mm height 2.5" drives, you can get up to 1TB. If it's only 9.5mm, then the max is 640GB. Both drives are still quite new and pretty expensive. If you can work with 500GB, there are many good deals around.

    500gb hdd will be fine,i'm guessing those bigger hdd's are gonna be way more than $180.

    recieved it and now istalled but unforunately recovery discs cannot recover files to the hdd :(.
