    having trouble playing movies off my external HD?

    when i play them they get all pixelated and the video and audio unsync. when i play videoes off my regular HD everythin is normal. ive installed and reinstalled codecs. is the data corrupted?

    How about if you copy a video off of your external hard drive to your regular hd and then play it?

    this still doesnt play well.

    once i put the file on the HD it gets all mess up even if i put it back on my desktop. this has only happened in the last few days.

    edit: right now im defragmenting it. hopefully this will help but who knows

    Well if they don't play well even on your normal hard drive, then it is most likely those specific videos unless all of the videos are unplayable. Then, it suggests a recent hardware or software change.

    What brand hdd? Maybe its a lower end drive and it has trouble writing. I have a morespace 500gb and when i defraged it half my files became corrupt and didnt play. :/ Havent tried to defrag it since lol
