two options for 17.3" notebook.
full hd is 1920x1080
so what's hd+? 1920x1200?
dell need to put more details or a help me choose option.
-
HD+ is 1600x900
-
And on some models it is 945p (rather strange, but truth)
In fact the WUXGA is called FHD or FullHD 1080p -

So 1920X1200 is called what sort of HD?
-
It's not offered, so it's not called anything.
-
HD typically applies to 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920x1200 is 16:10 vs. 1920x1080 is 16:9.

I was just wondering since we have 1920X1200 in XPS M1730.
-
I believe 1920x1200 is called "True HD".
-
They're all made up names with no formal definition. 1920x1200 is officially WUXGA.
-
"HD," "HD+," and "FullHD/FHD" are all marketing claptrap.
Focus on the actual resolution instead of what kind of "HD" it is. They should tell you that.
EDIT: OK, I found what you're looking at - the Inspiron 17's display options page does NOT say what resolutions the HD+ and Full HD screens are. Bad show, Dell.
Poking around to other models (like the Studio 17) reveals that the HD+ screen is 1600x900, which means the Full HD screen must be 1920x1080 (regular HD would be something like 1366x768, if offered). -
LoL. Regular HD? Full HD. That doesn't even make sense...
