i'm looking for good hdd diagnostics software, i have raid 0 SATAII drives and want to check out the read/write speeds to ensure both drives are running in SATAII.

also, my windows experience score is getting pulled down by memory calculations per second. i would have assumed that dell uses premium memory modules with the m1730, but i guess not.

are there tweaks to change the memory timings ?

    Memory Timings - Try Memset

    Or buy Lower Latency Modules....

the memory timings shown, those are fixed and can be utilized by the mobo ? not sure if the timings can be adjusted in the BIOS for the m1730.

There is a good chance you won't be able to alter the memory timings since they are hard-coded into the modules. If you are upgrading to more RAM, get the lower latency modules, else stick to the stuff you've got, since it won't make much of a difference in overall performance.
