Hi everybody,This is my first post :D

I already know some neccesary information about this but i cant be successfull.I have a hp pavilion dv9630 et lappy,i encounter some heat issuess. It has a 8600m gs and i play cod4,i overclock it to 650/1500/420(ddr2),it can be easily overclocked but the laptop's fan doesnt kick in properly.

Even if the gpu is around 90-95C the fan will run at a good speed if and only if the cpu's heat is 58C or more, since I undervolt my cpu and it runs cool it doesn't have a max temp like that so the fan doesn't spin fast enough because the cpu is cool however gpu burns like hell.

So it seems like this fan is programmed only to spin at enough speeds when the cpu is hot it doesnt recognize gpu.

Can i flash my gpu's bios, because I saw that from the nbitor thing i can also control it's fan speed? Is it true?

Also is my gpu connected with mxm slot or soldered to mobo? How can i know that, btw i can open the lappy to see that,my father doesn't allow,a mistake can ruin 1000 dolars. Thanks if you reply.

Seems like the fan regime is dependent only on CPU temps. BIOS update could solve your problem if there is any.

My fix has helped a lot... prevents the GPU from heating up quickly and for no reason and keep fan off...

I would simply put the processor back to stock voltages. In all cases when the processor and the graphics card share a fan, the fan is always controlled solely by the processor temperature. Processors can withstand much higher sustained temperatures than the graphics processor, so putting your processor back to stock voltages will result in lower system temperatures

Well I must correct you BC that is not the case always. In my NB fan is shared by GPU and CPU and when the GPU hits certain temp, fan kicks in higher speed. I know because I tested with ATITool which did not put pressure on CPU and it's temperature was in low range. As soon as GPU temp reached the limit(I cannot remember now what was it, I think 85C or 90C), fan kicked in highest speed.
