    so my older brother is a musician and left a bunch of equipment here and i've reaped some benefits.. but i'm so hopelessly noob when it comes to music equipment.. so i've only been able to play the instruments themselves lol *fail*

    i really want to hook up his yamaha motif 6 keyboard (and a guitar too) to my laptop.. to record/mix stuff etc.. but i have nooooooooo idea how. i tried looking around and found an mbox audio interface thingie he had that i thought would do the trick.. but it's not compatible with vista -________________-;;

    i don't even know the mechanics of what needs to be plugged in to what which needs to be plugged into what in order for me to record and mix **** on my computer..

    can anyone help me? like.. what kind of equipment (to input the sound from a keyboard, guitar) and software etc. i would need.. and like what you would recommend (that's not too expensive).. or if there is a way to get the incompatible mbox audio interface thing (would that work anyways even if it were compatible.. idkidk) to work on vista

    a lot of details would be appreciated bc .. im dumb :x
