so basically my laptop hinges are broken

the plastic supports that holds the metal pushings that hold the screws of the hinges is broken

glue doesn't work because it can't handle the tension, tried it.

any idea how to fix it?

it happened to the two hinges and i can't use the laptop now and i don't know what broke it. also another supports are broken because the the base enclosure can't handle the tension too

Can you repair them with epoxy and then drill new holes.

sorry can you be more specific? i was going to use epoxy and insert the metal bushings inside the epoxy then wait until it set and cure. is that what you mean?

Yes, that is something you can try. If that does not work then you may have to look for a new base on ebay.

Use a long curing epoxy. The shorter the cure time the weaker they generally are. If you have a Dremel and taps etc you could just build an epoxy block and work it from there.

Yes, what TANWare said. Also I would not use the clear epoxy.

To do it properly a Dremel is the best way. You know as they say a proper tool for a proper job.

I found this one but not sure if it's good and can handle the tension

    Should I use it? It's cheap, 1$

    No. Fast curing = weaker.

It should state 24-48 hour cure time. On the same note avoid kickers as well as most will weaken the cured block.

    Kickers are fast curing agents.

I will search for another one tomorrow and I hope I will find one. If I didn't I have no option except using the fast curing one and hopefully will fix my 6 months old laptop

Have you asked from local service center or called their local number. I think the warranty should cover whole EMEA. There might be exceptions but I'd recommend at least asking since they might refuse fixing anything else later if there is some self made repairs :)

Yes I did.. And they told me they won't repair it because the damage is caused by bad usage.

BTW I bought this epoxy with 45 mins working time and 24 hours curing time. Too long but hopefully will work

If any one has any recommendations before proceeding please reply with it

    Thanks

That's a bummer. It's darn difficult to try to prove otherwise.

Well, he used mix of the exact same plastic and dichloroethane. I never used that before. What I did use is 2nd way which is in the link. soda + superglue.
