    i have a Lenovo ThinkPad T60 Notebook - 1953D5U
The memory is: Standard Memory 256MB DDR2 SDRAM

I would like to upgrade to 512MB total.

Where should I buy and what brand/model?
Are there any guides to upgrading ram in a Lenovo T60?

    Thanks!

you can go to crucial.com and they have a tool that will tell you what ram you need. once you have the specs, you can either buy from them or look elsewhere online for a good deal.

the upgrade should be very easy. probably on the bottom. unscrew a couple screws and you're in.

you should be able to find an installation manual. if not, you could probably get it from thinkpad or your reseller. anyway, some good brands are corsair, kingston, crucial, transcend, and ocz. my favorite place is newegg.com, but you can check pricewatch.com to check prices at other places.

download cpu-z to find out. you can use either 533 or 667. it doesn't matter which.

You can take out and check what memory speed you have, then choose one with the same speed you have inside now, and use a memory software to test, make sure no any error there.

If you mix memory speeds, your computer will run at the lower of the two speeds. It's always a good idea to match speed and size of memory when adding more RAM to your system.

Crucial has a system scanner app - did you try using it to scan your system and identify the correct RAM? I know that Crucial sells T60 compatible RAM, but you may not find it in the "configurator".
