finally got my lappie ^^ it's sweet with a whole sleek black finish (everything's black including the surrounding area of the touchpad which is usually silver on most laptops) and the brand logo ain't so bad looking either ^^ anyway i was popping in a DVD movie on my DVDRAM drive and it won't read the darn thing....i tried other DVDs and the results were the same...i'm not sure if this is the cause of my troubles but when i tried to figure out what was wrong i stumbled upon the "REGION" settings in the properties tab..i can only have up to 5x to change the region setting and after that it is impossible to change it even if i change OS or reformat my HD (according to the note)..i haven't contacted yet the store manager where i purchased my lappie coz it's sunday and i won't be able to contact him till wednesday coz of the holidays..i hope someone could help me especially those who encountered the same problem as i did..

Check if the problem is that it can't read the DVD or whether it won't play the DVD.
Put the DVD in the drive and then look at the files on the DVD using Explorer. Can you see the sames and sizes of the files?
The DVD drive allows you to change the DVD region five times. The first time you try to play a DVD it will detect the region and set the drive to that region. If all your DVDs are from the same region then you will have no problems.
If you can see the files on the DVD, it is possible that your computer did not have any DVD player software installed. This case the computer does not know what to do with the DVD.
What model is the DVD drive (Device Manager will give you a model number). Some brands have region-free work-arounds. See rpc1.org.
