i'm thinking about getting an external monitor and i would like a few suggestions. i want to spend around or less than US$275 and in the 22" range. i'll be using it as an external for my MB, and as a HD display for my xbox 360, which is where i run into problems. I sort of know about all the HD resolutions and the "battle" between 720p and 1080i, and im not really worried about which one of those resolutions it supports, aslong as itll do atleast one. and also, does anybody know how well the HD off the 360 looks when it is connected through the vga adapter? what other options do i have when connecting to a pc monitor? thanks guys(/girls).

For that, you really can't get a monitor, you need an LCD TV with s-video and HDMI.

    s-video for MB
    HDMI for xbox 360

To get s-video on your macbook you need and its quoted from the apple wesbite
Also, do you want it to be flat or fat? I'm pretty sure flat, but you didn't really say which one.

Edit: After looking at some, you won't get a 1080i period for that price & size. Also, you won't even get an 720p for that price and size unless you get A VERY VERY GOOD DEAL, then it might be some ****ty brand and might have problems with it. If I were you, you need to same up some $$$.

yes i do want flat. how much do you think i should spend for a 22 inch 720p? either a computer monitor or as you suggested a lcd tv. and i want it to support atleast 1280 x 800 resolution for my lappy.

I don't really know with your resolution thats kind of hard, plus the 22" size not all have the inputs that you need, its going to be hard to find the right tv....

Umm, why use s-video? Use a dvi-to hdmi cable (as they're roughly the same thing.
