well ive been told its nearly impossible to upgrade a laptop, but my friend was telling me its not only possible to upgrade ram, but pretty simple. Is this true? Im wondering if I will be able to do this with the asus s96s will be able to get its ram upgraded in the future if i decide to. I cant find any manufacture instructions or anything that says if it can be done.

RAM and hard disk are pretty easy upgrades. Most laptops have a ram module at the bottom behind a cover. One screw and you can change it. The 2nd module is either next to the first or sometimes under the keyboard.

The ram, HD and in some cases the CPU all can be easily upgraded. Generally the ram and HD will give you the best performance to $ value. As wave pointed out, upgrading the ram is very basic.

Which reminds me, for some inexplicable reason, I want to upgrade to that new 250GB Samsung notebook HDD.
