hello need some help with this hard drive
    its 2 weeks old.
when it come to my house i test it with hdtune (smart ok, no bad sectors) but it has hight temperatures (58 C).
i ll start using some cooling stuff and it has: 50 C

today i tryed to test it with WD data life guard, (smart is ok) but main test saying: it can be completed becouse of too many bad blocks(

i started hdtune again (its a half of progress now) but all seems to be fine.

    any ideas whats goin on?
and maybe you can recomend me some more hdd test utilities under windows?

also i when i tryed to use different usbs , one time it says: disk not formated and its required to format it, but when i plug and unplug it, problem gone.

    thank you

Sorry mate, sounds like you need to return this drive and get a replacement.

Then print and take a copy of your results. Let them debate that.

Be relentless, and demand the working product you paid for.

If it's running hot out of spec up to 60c by itself, it could be a head crash.

Regardless of bad sectors, the temps you're getting are fairly dangerous and they shouldn't be that high. I'm currently abusing one of my externals just to check temps and so far i haven't hit 35C with over 15GB of data written non stop.

EDIT: After over an hour and a half of non stop reads/writes to the drive i'm at 41C and ambients are at around 25.

Did your scans find anything wrong with the drive as of now. I could see errors creeping up with the drive heating up.

it something like at the end of disk.
is it possible that hdtune testing only created partition? and wd utility test while disk?(thera must be some back up sectors as i know, may be they dead in my case?)

Just print that and go back to the place where you bought the drive. You can definitely complain about this.
