    how can i find out the native resolution of my screen?

    this is actually for my friends desktop monitor.

    While it's connected, you can go to control panel->display properties->settings, and look at the resolution slider (from "less" to "more"). The resolution at the right end of the slider is the highest resolution supported by the monitor. Or go online and check the manufacturer's specs? lol

    Someone will correct me as to a better/proper way, I'm certain.

    If your in vista, right click the desktop and select personalize, from there go to display and you should see your monitor type and the current resolution in use wich by default will be the native res if you have your video card drivers installed.

    start --> control panel --> display

    should be right there in your face with a picture of a monitor.

    that max res avalible will be the native as you cant set a res higher than the pixel count on screen.

    I hope your not talking about a CRT :p those have varible resolutions and will actully MAKE the resolution you choose as they dont have pixels at all. So no matter what you set its nativ
