so you basically use the hard drive like you would an external drive? just only store stuff in there? everything else, the OS and programs like MS office, photshop or games you would install on the SSD is that correct? or is the SSD only for the OS? sorry i'm such a noob...

    yes you got it.

The SSD will be your OS drive and your programs. If the SSD is large enough, you can also load some games on there (at least that's what i've done).

The HDD will contain everything else. All your music, movies, files etc. I also have my page, cache and temp files moved onto the HDD to save extra writes to the SSD

cool thanks, i have another question, when you edit videos, do you put the videos on the SSD and then edit or do you just leave the videos in the HD and edit it there? cause i imagine you would copy it to the SSD and then edit it, which should be faster , though copying the video to the SSD would be a hassle.

Thats really up to you. My wife does a lot of video editting and on her computer, she has video editting software on the SSD and all her actual videos on a 750gig HDD. This is in part because her SSD is only 64 gigs but it works well. I don't know how much faster the whole process would be if everything was on an SSD, but she has no complaints.

If I was doing it, whatever I was working on, i'd put it on the ssd, then move it to hdd for longterm storage or move it to DVD/external harddrive
