I'm wondering how good the new graphics chipset is? it'll be hindered by it's reliance on system memory and it will much Vista's Aero with no problems...but I want to play HL2 and the new CnC 3 - Tiberian Wars. think it'll do? I would switch over to XP right away to methinks, and make sure I have 2GB of RAM. one Vista is not so buggy and better supported and 4GB of RAM is cheap, I might go back.![]()

first, you realize that it isn't dx10, right? anyway, there is a user in the asus forum that just bought the a8jr with the x2300 and he posted up some 3dmark scores...

It is NOT DX10, so don't use that as a reason to buy it.

I could care less about DX9 really. I just want to be able to use Aero without any hitches and hiccups. my friend just bought himself a decent rig with the GMA950 and even with 2GB of RAM and it maxed out, he says it stumbles about. with a slower machine (Dothan 2ghz w/2GB RAM and x300) with superior graphics, he says it's smooth as butter. I'll go check that post out...thanks!

Its a renamed/rebranded x1350
x1350- http://ati.amd.com/products/mobilityradeonx1350/specs.html
x2300- http://ati.amd.com/products/mobilityradeonx2300/specs.html
and the x300<x1350 thus x300<x2300

But you do care about DX9, don't you? That is if, as in your first post, you said you'd like to play C&C 3 and HL2.
The X2300 will run Aero quite fine, and certainly better than GMA950. On the other hand, C&C 3 will have to be played with almost all settings at 'low' to be acceptable. It will run, though...
how good is the new DAAMiT x2300?
