It depends on your particular 720qm. The only answer anyone can really give is "until it BSODs."

Theoretically, all cores should be able to OC to their max turbo speed of 2.8 ghz stably, but I don't know if that requires a voltage change or not.

EDIT my bad i got 145 which is 1885 but when i tried 150 which is 1950 i got a BSOD

my idle temps are 40-43C for cpu and 47C for gpu. i have my 260m at 580 core 1450 shader 950 mem and when i run Folding at home cpu is 65C and gpu is 73C :) Also my stupid case fan wont even spin up because the temps aren't high enough. I am too lazy/dumb to do the registry hack because it is like 50 steps lol. So temps aren't an issue

If your case fans don't kick on why not just plug in direct to PSU and have them kicking the whole time?

Edit: my bad just gave a desktop answer. nvm

:) no biggy...i don't really move my laptop so i am halfway temped to plug it into an external powersource to make it spin.

EDIT: does anyone know what i can overclock the 720qm to? or am i really get max speeds right now at 145...it is only a total of 150mhz more when all cores are working

I'm not sure how SetFSB works, but if there's no way to change the RAM divider, then you're overclocking your RAM along with your CPU. It's quite possible that it's maxing out well before your processor does.

i got 1333 ram so i dont think that is the issue. 720qm can only use 1066 right? It says its running at 10700 667mhz...odd numbers right?

Gen 1 Clarksfield i7's support 1333 RAM if your motherboard's BIOS allows you to set RAM at that speed.
