Well it sure seems like you're saying AMD is the best and sounds like every other AMD-fanboy i've seen.

Sure, AMD has it good sides and so on, but don't have to sound so critical because something is surely wrong with your system. Maybe it's because you put parts togheter from two dv7's and something is bork. It could be alot of explainations for it to be like it is for you.
Because intel isn't going to get slower than any AMD in anything just because you say so :) It's already well proven that it's the other way around. So the only thing i see, is that you have got a problem with your dv7.

Btw, BEVS and BEVT, both are 5400rpm.

I can say like this about my intel notebook, that i had with my 4200rpm 160GB fujitsu HDD, it was slow. It was hell of a slow notebook. But that's not weird when you have a 30MB/s and 20ms harddrive init limiting the other hardware, when i switched it over for a WD3200BEKT the 320GB 7200rpm that does ~70MB/s and 15ms, it was a blast, the whole experience got lifted up beyond my expactations, i never thought a harddrive could do so much for a system, when it comes to do everything.

Dollar for dollar, they're just about equal (this is by design; they adjust their prices in tandem). The problem is that AMD doesn't really have anything that can match the mobile C2Ds at the high end so if you want power, you have to go with Intel. This is bad because Intel doesn't need to innovate all that quickly to stay on top. Hopefully AMD will use any delay of Calpella to catch up.

Well i dont see any problems with it. The parts i moved over are the hard drive the ram and the battery. Also Regardless of the fact BEVS and BEVT are both 5400rpm the bevt is 10mb/s faster http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/wd-toshiba-join-club,1776-5.htmlI actually forgot that i switched the wd3200bevt out because i didnt want to formatt it with a samsung hm250jl

If you know that much, then you should know that there could be many factors making it behave the way it does for you and has nothing to do with intel or not.

Just seems so narrow-minded to see it as a problem with intel and that's why you never gonna get an intel-system again and also recommending others to not buy whatever gets you to think otherwise. But it's your loss not to find out why it behaves like it does for you, not ours :)

Intel was never behind AMD in notebooks. There were times when they were dangerously close, like back in the P4-M days, but they were far better than on the desktop(due to reasons like there wasn't any Willamette versions of P4-M, and P4-M was the real mobile deal with low TDP and full speedstep).

I see that happening because process technology advantages really show in the "extreme" end, like low power and very high performance. AMD can't make 5W CPU or a CPU with 24MB of cache and >500mm2 die size.

Regardless, Capella is looking to be a real good one.

The guys from german notebookjournal.de have a complete test of intel Calpella with core i7 Q820M on their site. Q820 runs much faster, despite its 1.7 ghz. I presume standard clock speed won’t be the big indicator for performance in the future.

A news regarding that comes in english …
