hi. my audio port in my dell laptop is broken, so i'm ordering a new one. we can open the laptop completely (done it before to check the audio port) and put this there -

but how do we connect it to the wires inside? will they just, like, pop in, or would we have to solder it etc?

    thank you.

You would have to take your lappy apart to actually know for sure, but in most cases the cable is detachable on the mainboard itself or to the daughterboard where the headphone port lies; if what you ordered didn't come with a cable anyway.

Edit: ...where did that picture come from? >_>
Looks like it's just a quick cable swap, no soldering needed
