    i have to replace my hdd because its dead. i have hp nc8430. how do i have to do this not to damage any components?

    There is an official HP manual for the nc8430, which includes detailed instructions and diagrams on how tom replace the hard drive.

    Just scroll down to pages 9 to 14.

    Just remember to keep hold of unpainted metal at the back of the laptop, perhaps one of the connectors, to prevent Electrostatic discharge (ESD) from damaging the components, and don't forget to isolate all power sources before you start opening up the notebook.

    were there any obvious signs of failure before it died? like you knew it was going to happen? or did it just die on you out of know where?
