i have two Crucial M4 256GB SSDs. I briefly used them in RAID0 in Alienware notebook which I NO LONGER own.

I didn't think much when I removed those SSDs from the Alienware. That was two months ago.

Now, I put one of them inside my new laptop(Thinkpad E430) and I ran into a problem.

When I tried to clean-install with Windows 7 CD, the installation won't even see the SSD - it says no drive found or something to that effect.

I also tried to install using the recovery factory backup from the original hard disk partition. When I did that, it sees the SSD somewhat - but it sees the SSD as "484GB Drive" rather than 256GB that it is. Needless to say, I can at least get the recovery process started but about 20 seconds into the recovery process, I get a error message and the process stops.

I googled a bit and it looks like I should have "unRAID" my SSDs before I remove them physically from the laptop. But I no longer own the Alienware from which the original RAID was built.

I also tried DISKPART and CLEAN command and "manage" menu under computer in windows 7 but neither works.

    Can anyone help? thanks!
