hi. recently i upgraded to 128gb kingston ssd and the performance is only half of what it should be. i think it is [POSSIBLY] because native command queueing NCQ is not supported. i have heard some notebooks do not have this feature, but i wanted to check / double check. when installing the ssd , copying the files from the hd via acronis true image i saw that AHCI was supported which is good. my notebook has windows vista busines 32bit installed. i have checked in device manager and the bios and can see no option for ncq. any info greatly appreciated.

comparing hdtune info from pc with raid0
    and 6735s
. a few boxes are left unchecked. why is that ? is it the cause of the mainboard perhaps.

IN AMD website i looked at raidxpert for 7 series chipsets. i guess that means 790fx chipset. i thought i should ask will it be of use with the ati radeon hd3200 chipset aka 780g ?

sorry,,, edited that to 780G from [850G which was wrong] therefore it looks like it will be in the 7 series. i should give it a try

Check if the bios has a Native SATA/IDE compatability option. If so, change to Native SATA.

i wasn't able to find a sata/ide option. i can tell you when i was transferring the data from hdd to ssd via acronis, AHCI was registered, as if it automatically made the switch.
above are the driver pages from both ide and ahci1. both drivers are the same which won't mean anything i s'pose. but look how old are the drivers,,,2006. i sure i already tried to update these and will try again. below is general info pic of device manager.
but no, i'm pretty certain i have no option for going native sata in bios. don't know why tho. cost cutting ?

WOW DUDE. I FOUND IT. IT HAS SATA DEVICE MODE AHCI ENABLED/IDE DISABLED. SO THAT is okay then. does the problem lie somewhere else ?

I'm going to move this thread to the hardware forum for you, perhaps you will get more assistance there.

thankyou C J. i was thinking that myself yesterday.

Just to re cap i'm trying to find a way to enable NCQ native command queueing.

i think it must be because of the mainboard only offering s ata 1.0
